Crusader of Centy

 

Crusader of Centy is one of the best games

I had never heard of. Growing up i was a Nintendo kid.

I had the Original NES in my bed room. 

The Snes was in the living room. My little

sister on the other hand had a Sega Genesis in

her room all to her self. So i had played a small

amount of Sega growing up, but only knew of a 

few games. If i had only known of this game when it

came out.....

 

So why did I never hear of this Gem ???

That has a lot to do with timing. This game 

was released at a very crazy time in Sega's history,

and the gaming world as a whole. Coming out in

march of 1995 , The Saturn was scheduled for a May

release. The Sega CD and Sega 32x where already

out and failing. Most people where not looking at 

new games on the Genesis. 

 

Crusader of Centy is a great adventure game. It looks

a bit like "A link to the the past" on SNES. I first 

heard about this game looking for "Zelda clones".

This game has some similarities in graphics,

and they share a flying sword for a weapon.

The way the sword is used on the other hand is

a new twist. As you progress though the game.

you meet animals that join your party. These animals

give your sword special powers when they are 

"equipped". Those powers can combine with each

other as well.

 

The game is story driven , and not as open world

as any of the Zelda series. You have a over world map , 

that lets you pick the level you are going to play.

It is very linear to start off, then you can start to play

around and explore. Finding life can be a bit of a pain 

at the start of the game. I emulated this game and 

recommend saving often at first. I took me a few tries to 

get the hang of thing.

 

This is a great game that is pretty expensive.

I would assume that is didn't get a huge production

run. Recently this game has got some 

major attention in the gaming community.
